With reference to my communication of the 24th January
rearding the appointment of an Advisory Committee on Traffic
in Opium, I have the honour to inform you that the Council of
the League of Nations at its sitting on February 21, 1921,
adopted the following resolutions:
The Council of the League of Nations resolvesi-
That in accordance with the Resolutions of the Assembly, passed on the 15th December, 1980, an Advisory Committee on Traffic in Opium be appointed consisting of one Representative from each of the following countries, viz:-
Holland, Great Britain, France, India, Japan, China, Sian and Portual.
That Sir John Jordan, Monsieur Senri Breuier, and Mrs Hamilton Wright be appointed as Assessors to the Advisory Committee for a period of two years from the date of appointment.
That the travelling expenses and subsistence allowance of the Assessors be paid out of funds of the League.
That the Advisory Committee be requested to meet, if possible, at the beginnia, of Hay and to submit to the Council not later than the 1st June, 1921, & Report on the execution of agreements relating to the Traffic in Opium and other dangerous druge in accordance with the penultimate -aragraph of the Resolutions of the Assembly.
In accordance with the above Resolution, it has been arranged that the first meeting of the Advisory Committee will take place at Geneva on May 2nd, 19212 and i an to request that the Government of Great Britain will send its representa-
-tive to participate in the meeting.
I should be „rateful if the Government of Great Britain would be good enough to communicate to me the name of its Representative before the 31st of March.
